The Rundown ⭐️

I think many expected Brandon Pfaadt (24) - ARI (AAA) to get called up after the DBacks released Madison Bumgarner, but Mike Hazen instead opted to call up Tommy Henry due to logistical reasons. While it’s frustrating to not see Pfaadt get called up, it’s fun to watch him toss gems in Triple-A like he did last night. He went seven innings, gave up only three hits while striking out eight and walking one. There really isn’t anything left for Pfaadt to prove at this point, but it’s nice to see him still being competitive.

There were a couple of relative bounce back pitching performances last night. Gavin Williams (23) - CLE (AA) only struck out three in five innings last outing, but got back to his dominant self last night, throwing a five inning no-hitter with eight strikeouts and a walk. Eury Pérez (20) - MIA (AA) gave up four earned runs the last time out, but last night he gave up no runs while striking out five and walking one in five innings of work.

Rounding out the pitchers, Jarlin Susana (19) - WSN (A) had an up and down night, striking out five and walking three in four innings pitched. Susana has been wild this year and projects to be wild in the future, but still can start if the command becomes a 40 rather than a 30. We’ll keep an eye on this moving forward.
