Cubs' prospects James Triantos, Kevin Alcántara, & Pablo Aliendo each homer twice for Double-A Smokies
There were plenty of exemplary performances from around the minor leagues last night, starting with three Cubs’ prospects who all had multi-home games for the Tennessee Smokies (AA). James Triantos, Kevin Alcántara, and Pablo Aliendo led the Smokies to a 10-4 victory over Rocket City. Elsewhere, Kyle Manzardo homered in his third straight game and is now slashing .304 / .393 / .609 on the season. Mariners prospect Harry Ford got off the schneid last night and connected for his first home run of the season. Brewers’ prospect Tyler Black continues to be hot, notching two hits and two walks to up his line to .329 / .430 / .539 this year. Sticking with the Brewers, hard-throwing right-hander Jacob Misiorowski punched out seven and only walked one across 4 1/3 innings. Staying with pitchers, Mets’ right-hander Jack Wenninger struck out 10 batters and only gave up one hit across six innings. However, the most strikeouts on the day belonged to Riley Bauman who punched out 11 hitters in six innings on the mound.
