The Rundown ⭐️
It was officially the High-A coming-out party for the newly-promoted Jackson Holliday (19) - BAL (A+) as he hit his first home run and triple in the league in Aberdeen’s 7-2 drubbing of Wilmington. With his pedigree, draft status, and coverage in the media, there’s no reason to think that this is anything out of the ordinary for Holliday, but it is a positive sign after two indifferent games to start his run with the IronBirds.
In the category of unsurprising (but enjoyable) events, a Guardians pitching prospect showed out, as Gavin Williams (23) - CLE (AAA) looked good in his level debut. The big righty struck out five and allowed no runs on three walks and three hits, as his Clippers wiped out Indianapolis. With Logan Allen and Tanner Bibee recently making the jump to the big leagues, the Guardians seem to have yet another talented starter waiting in the wings if either of those other two phenoms sputter.
