Futures Game
It’s disappointing that MLB doesn’t think it’s important to feature and make widely accessible a game that has the sole purpose of showcasing the next group of star players in the game. Instead, the game is on streaming service that not many people have access to and is competing against high-profile big league games like Yankees vs. Red Sox. It’s difficult to understand.
Anyway, the game was entertaining all around and featured great performances from some of the best prospects in baseball. The American League Futures Team ended up beating the National League squad, 6-4. A’s prospect Shea Langeliers won the MVP. The 24-year-old catcher homered and threw out Corbin Carroll trying to steal third base. Dustin Harris (TEX) and Yainer Diaz (HOU) had two hits a piece for the AL squad and Yankees prospect Jasson Domínguez and the Twins’ Matt Wallner hit two-run homers in the third inning off Kyle Harrison (SF).
