• Drafted: 2021, Kansas City Royals, Round: 3, Overall Pick: 78

• High School: Park Hill, Kansas City, MO

The Royals selected Carter Jensen with 78th overall pick of the 2021 draft and offered him an above-slot bonus to convince him to forgo college and turn pro. A local kid, Jensen grew up in a suburb of Kansas City and attended Park Hill High School just 20 miles from Kauffman Stadium. Being right in their backyard allowed the Royals to scout Jensen extensively and they decided he was too good of a talent to pass on in the 3rd round of last year’s draft. Jensen spent last summer at the Royals’ spring training facility playing in the complex league before being assigned to Low-A Columbia this season.
