Brayan Rocchio (21) - CLE (AA) 3-6, HR, 2 2B
Brayan Rocchio went 3 for 6 with a home run and two doubles last night for Akron (AA) — It’s the second time in three day Rocchio has been the Player of the Day. After a slow start to the season, the Guardians prospect has really started to turn it on lately. I said the other day “Rocchio has a plus hit tool and is currently running a batting average on balls-in-play of .256 — something tells me he is about to go on a heater.” He’s now hitting .241/.331/.404 (103 wRC+) on the season with seven home runs and seven steals. The switch-hitting shortstop is also carrying a career high walk rate of 11% and has reduced his strike out rate from last season.
