Yankees top prospect Anthony Volpe hit his first Triple-A home run last night and then quickly added his second homer two innings later to help Scranton beat Durham, 7-2. Volpe started off the year slowly in Somerset (AA), hitting just .197/.329/.364 (95 wRC+) with two home runs in the first month of the season, but has slashed .271 / .358 / .493 (130 wRC+) since the end of April. Across two levels he’s now hitting .262 / .356 / .488 with 20 home runs and 46 stolen bases. For a more in-depth look at Volpe, we featured him in our Prospect Spotlight back in June.
