Good morning!
The Rundown 🌟
Diamondbacks top prospect Corbin Carroll (21) went 3 for 5 yesterday with a home run and a double to help Reno beat Las Vegas 11-7. Carroll’s homer was an opposite field blast that was hit 104 mph off the bat and traveled an estimated 421 feet. He’s now slashing .316 / .436 / .632 with 21 home runs and 27 stolen bases on the year. Carroll should be in every conversation when it comes to discussing the top overall prospects in baseball. Sticking with DBacks prospects, Jordan Lawlar (20) had four hits yesterday, including a home run and a double. After a slow start in High-A, the 20-year-old shortstop appears to be getting more comfortable — he’s slashing .312 / .389 / .531 over the past 10 days. Lawlar was featured in last week’s Prospect Spotlight. Triston Casas (22) - BOS (AAA) went 2 for 3 with a pair of doubles and a strikeout in a 9-3 loss for the WooSox. Casas is 6 for 21 in August and is slashing .246 / .350 / .455 on the year.
